Where Menulog's orders went

Menulog closed on 26 November 2025, and its customers were redirected to Uber Eats. Uber's 180-day 0% offer for former Menulog restaurants ended around late May 2026, so venues are now paying standard rates of up to 30%. Your own page is the one channel no one can close or reprice.

Rebuilding direct orders after Menulog

  1. Open a Chefzi page for pickup and local delivery
  2. Add the link to Google and your socials
  3. Use bag inserts on app orders to bring regulars across
  4. Keep one delivery app for new customers

What a lost Menulog order is worth

Take a A$40 delivered order. At a 30% commission it costs A$12 before GST; at Uber Eats' 8% pickup rate it costs A$3.20. On your own page the commission is A$0. Run your own order values through the commission calculator, and see every published rate in the delivery app commission report.

A one-week switch plan for ex-Menulog venues

  1. Day 1: send your menu as an export, screenshots or a link. Migration is free.
  2. Day 2–3: check prices and options, set hours in your state's time zone, and draw delivery zones.
  3. Day 4: connect card payments, or allow cash and pay at the counter.
  4. Day 5: place a test order. It rings on the Chefzi app until accepted, and the docket prints on a compatible printer.
  5. Day 6–7: add the link to your Google Business Profile and website (or use the embed snippet), print table and counter QR codes, and put a card in every app bag.

What a direct-ordering page won't replace

Menulog brought you customers who'd never heard of you. Your own page doesn't do that on its own. It turns people who already know you into commission-free orders. Most venues need both: one app for discovery and their own page for repeat orders.

Menulog: the facts (checked October 2026)

Menulog stopped taking orders in Australia on 26 November 2025, after about 19 years in the market. Its owner, Just Eat Takeaway, closed the Australian business.

  • Customers were redirected to Uber Eats under a commercial agreement announced by Uber.
  • Restaurants on Menulog lost the channel and, because the app held the customer accounts, their customer list.
  • The remaining large delivery apps in Australia are Uber Eats and DoorDash.

When to use Menulog, and when to use your own page

If you were a Menulog venue, the lesson is to own the customer relationship. A Chefzi ordering page keeps your customer list with you, whatever happens to any platform.

Frequently asked questions

Is Menulog still operating?

No. Menulog stopped taking orders in Australia on 26 November 2025.

What can restaurants use instead of Menulog?

Uber Eats and DoorDash are the remaining national marketplaces. For repeat customers, your own ordering page avoids commission: Chefzi has 0% commission on a flat monthly fee.

How quickly can an ex-Menulog venue start taking direct orders?

Send your menu as an export, screenshots or a link and we migrate it for free. Then set hours and delivery zones, connect payments and place a test order before adding the link to Google.

Do I need my own drivers without Menulog?

Not necessarily. Use your own drivers, book on-demand couriers through Uber Direct or DoorDash Drive, or offer pickup only. Set delivery zones by suburb, postcode or radius, each with its own fee and minimum.

Why did Menulog close?

Menulog stopped taking orders in Australia on 26 November 2025, and its customers were redirected to Uber Eats. For the reasons behind the decision, see Menulog's own announcement. We don't speculate here.
