GloriaFood is shutting down: what Australian restaurants need to do

Updated 2026-10-27

GloriaFood, the free ordering widget that thousands of Australian takeaways put on their websites, is closing. Its own homepage says it reaches end of life on 30 April 2027. An Oracle food and beverage page gives an earlier date, 31 March 2027, for full end of service. Both are Oracle pages, so plan around the earlier one.

Journalists: see our sourced GloriaFood shutdown fact sheet.

What stops working

Oracle doesn't offer a direct replacement. GloriaFood's notice points to FoodAmigos as one option, but nothing moves automatically. Whoever you choose, your menu has to be rebuilt.

A switch plan for Australian venues

  1. November to December 2026: export or screenshot your menu, modifiers, delivery zones and customer list. Write down every place your GloriaFood link appears.
  2. January 2027: set up the new system, test real orders and check payouts reach your bank.
  3. February 2027: run both systems in parallel for a week, then swap the website button, Google link and QR codes. Tell your regulars by SMS or email.
  4. March 2027: GloriaFood switched off on your side, well before either deadline.

Avoid the summer holidays and your busiest weeks. In most of Australia, a quiet week in late January or February is ideal.

How Chefzi helps

Chefzi moves your GloriaFood menu for you at no charge, with 0% commission and a flat monthly fee. See GloriaFood alternative and the step-by-step switch guide. For every published Uber Eats and DoorDash rate with sources, see our Australian delivery-app commission report. Try your own numbers in the commission calculator.

Before you pick a replacement, compare the free ordering options left in Australia with a flat monthly plan. Check that the order-taking app alerts as loudly as GloriaFood's did.
